Versatility of a condo unit’s design is a clear advantage in a market where living areas are usually bare, cramped, and irregularly-cut. At Cedar Crest, DMCI Homes’ latest medium-rise project in Taguig City, buyers can get inspired to using space efficiently and maximizing the benefits of a condo lifestyle.

Jocelyn Arcenas of The Environments Collaborative was tapped to create a design for the model units. Following the development’s Neo-Asian minimalist theme, the model unit was rendered as a classic example of how variety can infuse character, function, and comfort in the interiors of a unit.

“As a model unit, we have to show its flexibility to the different users,” said Ms. Arcenas “There are many factors that can be used as a design concept to make the unit stand out, among them the choice of furniture, wall features, color schemes, and textures.

At Cedar Crest, we presented two different model units derived from the concept of Neo-Asian minimalism but using a different approach based on the lifestyle of its users.”

The 49.5 sqm two-bedroom model unit was designed with the theme “Beauty in Simplicity”, created for start-up families or single professionals who can enjoy the practical size and comfort of this unit type. Color schemes, furniture pieces, textures, and accessories were selected to capture the personality of the model unit’s future residents.

Function and style blended to exude the modern and cozy comfort that is apparent in all the living spaces of the model unit. With no dividers, the living area flowed into the dining area, creating an illusion of space.

The two bedrooms also stood out for their individual appeal, with the first bedroom highlighted by a four-poster bed while the second bedroom an attractive area for rest and function.

“Elegance in Austerity” is the concept used for the 45 sqm two-bedroom model unit, serving as a sanctuary to support the lifestyle of growing families.

A display of contemporary living is captured through a streamlined design of furniture, enhanced by interesting pieces such as a blue accent wall, modern droplights and a wall décor in chrome in the dining area. The clean and sophisticated look extends to the bedrooms, the highlight of which is a black and white mural framed by dark panels at the center of the master’s bedroom.

The DMCI Homes project is composed of 10 five-story condominium buildings standing on a 3.8-hectare property. It is designed for newly-weds, start-up or growing families, working or professional parents with one or two kids, and young urban professionals working in BGC, and Makati or Ortigas.

The project is accessible via C-5 Road and is a few minutes away from BGC, the Makati CBD, leisure hubs such as Market! Market!, Bonifacio High Street, and Greenbelt; schools and hospitals, and Manila’s airport terminals.
